Dr. Sketchy’s Anti Art school was started in New York by Molly Crabapple as a way to provide artists with a decadent atmosphere for life drawing. In a dingy bar in Brooklyn the idea took shape, artists, underground performers and models, booze, music, and fun. The idea has spread around the world and is now in dozens of cities and countries across the globe.

The Dr. Sketchy’s Akron franchise is a three-hour session hosted by “Doctors” Andrew, Derek and Joe, and featuring amazing models from all over Northeast Ohio and beyond. Our curated playlist and drinks from Jilly’s Music room help to keep the creative juices of our “Art Monkeys” flowing, starting with quick warm-up sketches and progressing up to longer poses. 

Artists of all skill levels are welcome! With a new theme each month—often including some of your favorite pop culture properties—our models provide dynamic poses that are sure to inspire! To help encourage you, we also have fun contests with skill challenges or creative prompts.
